Museum Snags Nomination for America's Best Restroom

The Field Museum is making headlines again, and this time it’s not the world-class exhibitions or extensive research drawing attention – it’s the most underappreciated room in the house. The Field has been named a finalist for the 10th Annual America’s Best Restroom Award. The award, sponsored by Cintas Facilities Services, surveys restrooms across the country in search of the best.

The Field Museum impressed competition judges with the two large restrooms on the ground floor. The family-friendly water closets are spacious, and feature enough fixtures and stalls that families and school groups alike can get in and out quickly. In addition there are powerful, efficient hand dryers, and child-sized facilities. In the women’s restroom, a private nursing space is reserved for new mothers complete with a couch and sink.

The final stage of the competition puts The Field Museum against nine other public places in a popular vote for the title. To see The Field take home the grand prize, visit www.bestrestroom.com and vote. Voting ends September 19.
