The exhibition, created by the Yale Peabody Museum, allowed visitors to explore Machu Picchu through the lens of the 1911 “rediscovery” of the site by Yale archeologist Hiram Bingham III. Once thought to be a mysterious lost capitol of the Inca empire or a sacred spiritual center, this Peruvian archaeological site has, until recently, remained shrouded in mystery.
