Be an explorer, scientist, artist and much more! Take part in fun-filled art and science activities in The Crown Family PlayLab. Hear a storytelling performance, meet a Field Museum scientist, or work with Chicago artists to create your own masterpiece.

December 21, 2013: Join us as we celebrate music from the World's Fair. In coordination with the exhibition Opening the Vaults: Wonders of the 1893 World's Fair hear a performance by the Friends of the Gamelan as they play traditional percussion music on the historic instrument called a Gamelan. After the performance join us in the art studio to make your own percussion instrument.
January 18, 2014: Join us for storytelling sessions with Genevieve Waller's Crooked Door Storytelling in association with Old Town School of Folk Music. Hear stories about family, fairy tales, and nature and then head to the art studio to create your own art work inspired by YOU!
February 15, 2014: Patterns can be found in all forms of nature. Have fun looking for color, shape and spiral patterns in the Crown Family PlayLab and throughuot the Museum. Stop by the art studio to make a unique mosaic design using patterns found in nature.
