LinEpig is an attempt to provide museums and collection managers with a practical tool for identifying female spiders in the linyphiid subfamily Erigoninae, the only spiders in North America with no key to genus. By making available an online reference to the anatomical structures needed for identification, this Field Museum initiative helps research collections around the country reduce their intractable backlog of linyphiid specimens.
