Introduction: 

Alaka Wali is a curator in the Anthropology Department (Collections and Research) and Applied Cultural Research Director in Environment, Culture and Conservation(ECCo).  She was the founding director of the Center for Cultural Understanding and Change until it merged with the Enviroment and Conservation Programs to form ECCo.
