Kenya-Madagascar Expedition 2011
Understanding Ancient and Modern Ways of Making a Living in the Western Indian Ocean
This year, three students, Jayla Frederick--a Junior at Perspectives leadership Academy, Ciara Newman--senior at Perspectives Leadership Academy , and Jesse Kusimba a Sophomore at Oak Park River Forest High School, are accompanying me to Kenya and Madagascar to participate in my ongoing anthropological and ecological research in East Africa. This is the fourth expedition partnered by Ernest and Young, Perspectives leadership Academy, and the Field Museum. The project is supported by grants from National Science Foundation, Field Museum Africa Council, Ernest and Young, and the Anthropology Collections Fund.
