My earliest visits to The Field Museum required a permission slip. Growing up in the Chicago suburbs, I visited the Museum on numerous field trips. Hooked at an early age!
While pursuing my degree in Anthropology at the University of Illinois at Chicago, I became a volunteer in the Education department, posted in the Webber Resource Center on Saturday afternoons. Once I decided to pursue a degree in Library Science, I started to volunteer in the Museum Archives. I left my volunteer role at the museum in 1997.
While pursuing my Masters Degree in Library Science at Dominican University, I worked in several other types of libraries, from a suburban public library to an academic law library. I was hired at The Field Museum as Reference Librarian in 2002 and currently hold the position of Museum Librarian. I am responsible for the overall operation of the Library and its collections and services.
