Bike Season Launch Ride!
The Field Museum kicked off the 2011 Bike Season on May 4th with a Lunch Ride to Northerly Island!
“It was just great to get out of the building and spend time with colleagues in the fresh air. We forget that Northerly Island is so beautiful and such a treasure to have here on Museum Campus!” said Genevieve Zigterman from Human Resources.
The next Museum Staff Biking Event is the 4th Annual Bike Repair Day. Several Field Museum employees volunteer their time and mechanical skills to get their colleagues’ bikes ready for the riding season. Over the past five years they have worked on over 75 bikes.
Don’t forget Bike To Work Week is June 11-17th. The Field Museum staff intends to win the Commuter Challenge for the 6th year in a row! Our goal is for over 20% of our staff ride to/from/for work this year.
Join us on Thursday, June 16th as The Field Museum hosts the Museum Campus Commuter Station! Get free coffee, snacks and bike swag!! Open 6:30am-9am!
