Introduction:
I am a junior at the Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA) in Aurora, Illinois. IMSA is a public boarding school for high school, grades 10-12. Through a program called Student Inquiry and Research, I am working with Dr. Shannon Hackett on Wednesdays during the school year. I hope to learn more about pathogens, birds, and the inner workings of a lab this year (and possibly next).
Coming from a family of many scientists, I have always wanted to be a scientist. The only question is, "What 'kind'?" I hope my experiences this year at the Pritzker Lab will give me some hard evidence to base my decision upon.
