Admission and Hours

Please note that based on information from NATO officials, the city, and public transportation officials, The Field Museum has decided to close on both Sunday, May 20 and Monday, May 21. The Museum will maintain regular business hours on Saturday, May 19. Visitors who drive can access the Museum Campus by turning east on McFetridge Dr. from Columbus Dr.; parking will be available in the Soldier Field garage (north entrance). Pedestrians can use the public walkway leading to the Museum Campus. Only the Genghis Khan exhibit will close at 3pm on Saturday, May 19; with the last ticket selling at 1:30pm.  For directions on how to travel to The Field Museum on Saturday, May 19, please click here.

We are also working to improve your visit. Some exhibitions may be closed due to renovation or for research purposes.  For inquires into exhibition closures please call (312) 922-9410, Monday-Friday 9am-4:30pm.

Ordering Advance Tickets:
Advance tickets may be purchased online, or in person at The Field Museum before 4 p.m. at the will-call booth.

Discounts for Illinois teachers (preK - 12), Chicago residents* and active military personnel are available only at the Museum's admissions desk. Identification required.

*The Museum extends an admission discount to residents of the City of Chicago, in recognition of the generous support from the city. Please ask any Guest Relations Representative for details. Proof of residency required.

Membership Pricing:
As a member you will enjoy unlimited admission to the Museum, including Underground Adventure. Members may also request a limited number of free passes to selected special exhibitions opening throughout the year. Hours:

The Field Museum is open from 9am to 5pm every day of the year, except Christmas Day.
Last Admission: 4pm daily*

Extended Hours:

The Museum will remain open until 6pm, with last admission at 5pm on the following days:

• Saturday, May 26
• Sunday, May 27

*At times, the Museum may adjust last admission entry times to accommodate special programs or events. 

Crown Family PlayLab:
The Crown Family PlayLab is free with Basic admission and is open Thursdays through Mondays from 10am to 4pm, last admission is at 3pm.  Please note that the Crown Family PlayLab will be closed Saturday, May 19 through Monday, May 21, 2012.
