Introduction:

As the Collections Manager in the Division of Invertebrates, I oversee the museum's collections of all invertebrate groups except insects, myriapods, and arachnids.  The collection currently comprises ca. 330,000 series of mollusks and ca. 15,000 series of non-molluscan invertebrates.

The focus of my research is on terrestrial and freshwater mollusks.  I have been studying their taxonomy, distribution, and ecology mainly in Europe, North Asia, and North America.  While I am mostly studying extant faunas, I have also been involved in the analysis of mollusk faunas recovered during paleontological and archeological projects.
