Geology, Fossil Mammals

Fossil Mammals is the largest of the collections in Vertebrate Paleontology at Field Museum. Ken Angielczyk is Curator of Fossil Mammals and works on nonmammalian synapsids, a collection which is housed in the Fossil Reptile Collection for historical reasons.
In additition to this in-house research, the Fossil Mammal Collection is used extensively by researchers around the world though a very active loan program and visits to the collection.
Our Collections
The Fossil Mammal Collection at The Field Museum is an important national and international systematic and paleontological resource, totaling almost 60,000 catalogued specimens.
