Print Journals
It is important to note that all print journals in The Field Museum Library's collection are fully cataloged, with each title having a unique call number classification. Titles can be searched in the online catalog, Harlow. For best results, please search using the "Browse Search" feature.
In recent years, Library staff, volunteers and interns have contributed countless hours to improving the holdings information available in the online catalog records. They have consulted historical card files & checked the physical shelf location in order to verify the exact range of volumes and years available for each title. There is much more work to be done, but users can see the particular holdings of completed titles by clicking on the "call number" link in the bibliographic record.
As an additional resource for locating titles in the print collection, please see the attachment "old serials-1.pdf" at the bottom of this page. This is a printed list of titles available in the Library's collection. As the Library has canceled subscriptions in recent years, this list is no longer current, and we may no longer receive many of the titles listed. The best place to locate exact holdings information is still via the online catalog (as stated above) or by simply checking the physical location.
For more information regarding the physical locations of the print journals, please see the Collection Locations page.
