Richard M. Daley, during his 22 years as mayor, lifted Chicago to its world-renowned status. Please join us for a presentation of the former mayor's personal insights into his love of Chicago and intimate knowledge of the city’s history and progress followed by a question and answer session. Mr. Daley's vision for the City of Chicago embodies the spirit of Daniel Burnham and the many city leaders who made "no little plans".
Joining Mayor Daley onstage will be Emmy Award winner Bob Sirott. An accomplished journalist and familiar Chicagoan, Sirott currently co-anchors FOX Chicago News at 9. His many acclaimed interviews during his storied carrer include conversations with the former Mayor. Sirott will take us through Chicago's history "from Burnham to Daley," set the stage for the Major's presentation and facilitate a live question and answer session with the audience.

The Event
The Women’s Board Fellowship Luncheon is an annual event designed to raise awareness of The Field Museum and all that it has to offer and to raise funds to benefit the Women In Science Fellowship. Women’s Board members and their guests attend a lecture in the Museum’s James Simpson Theatre, followed by a luncheon in Stanley Field Hall. Guests meet members of the Field’s research staff and are encouraged to explore the Museum throughout the afternoon. More than 500 guests are expected at the event.
The Women in Science Fellowship
Proceeds from the event will fund The Women’s Board Women in Science Fellowship. Established in 2000, the Fellowship is awarded each year to an outstanding female graduate student who is pursuing an advanced degree in the natural sciences. The Fellowship enables these talented scientists to fully immerse themselves in their research and utilize the Museum’s resources to collect data essential to the completion of their dissertations. The 2012-2013 Fellow is Charlene McCord. Click here to watch a special video featuring Field Museum women scientists!
