Ant Lab Internship: Collection Studies & Databasing Techniques
2012 High School Summer Internship
Project Description: The student will help translate georeferenced data from ant field collections between formats to facilitate integration into the Field Museum's extensive collections database. This job consists of entering data into an online latitude and longitude translator and entering the results into a spreadsheet. In addition the student may be asked to help sort ants from bulk/mixed jars of invertebrates collected from around the world. Attention to detail is required for this position. The intern will learn databasing skills and basic insect classification and identification.
