Visitors can explore a typical living space of the Pawnee Native American Tribe of Oklahoma in the exhibition’s exact replication of a Pawnee Earth Lodge.

Inside the lodge, visitors can look at replications of the Pawnee’s wood frame beds, fire pit, animal hides, and a starry night sky while listening to stories of the Pawnee Nation told by Museum docents.

Totem poles typically stood outside or attached to homes as an indicator as to who lived in the home. The figures on the totem poles represent particular families.
