Practice new teaching strategies that prepare you to bring real artifacts and specimens into the classroom. Educator Open House
Before you finish out the 2013-2014 school year, remember to check back here for the date of the Annual Educator Open House at The Field Museum! This yearly event is typically hosted on a weeknight evening in early fall.
Educator Open House highlights often include:
- Going behind-the-scenes with Field Museum scientists
- Exploring objects from our collections up-close
- Getting tips and tricks from Museum Educators
- Viewing temporary exhibitions - sometimes BEFORE they are open to the public!
- Special offers available only to Educator Open House attendees
This is a free event open to all educators.
The Field Ambassador program is a professional learning community through which Chicago-area educators receive on-going professional development on the Museum’s resources—our exhibitions, collections, educational programs—and best practices in using museums to support student learning. In return, Field Ambassadors serve as liaisons between the Museum and their school community by sharing our resources with colleagues and keeping us abreast of the changing needs of the educator-audience. For more information about program dates, requirements of participation, and to download an application visit Field Ambassadors!
