Pre-registration is required for all Student Programs and Guided Tours. Maximum of 35 students per program or tour. See descriptions for associated fees and availability. 


PlayLab: Self-Guided Exploration
(At the Museum, in the Crown Family PlayLab)

Crawl, hop or fly in our Illinois Woodlands, dig up dinosaur bones in the Dino Lab, and grind corn in a Pueblo. Little explorers can choose from an endless variety of activities in the Crown Family PlayLab. Meets ILS goals in English Language Arts, Science, Social Science, and Fine Arts.

Grades: PreK to 2nd

Duration: 45 minutes

Availability: Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays; 10am or 11am October - May

PlayLab: Fossil Dig!
(At the Museum, in the Crown Family PlayLab)

Come join us on a paleontology dig! Discover different fossil types and help dig out a fossil cast from a field jacket. Meets ILS goals 7, 12, 16.

Grades: K to 2nd

Duration: 45 minutes

Availability: Mondays, Thursdays, and Fridays; 10am or 11am October  - May 

Fees: $2.50 per student, pre-registration required

 

Guided Tour of the Pawnee Earth Lodge
(At the Museum, in the Pawnee Earth Lodge)

Examine objects and learn about traditional Native American Pawnee culture, culture change, and contemporary Pawnee life. Meets ILS goals 16, 18.

Grades: 2nd

Duration: 30 minutes

Availability: Mondays through Fridays; 10am, 10:45am, and 11:30am October 7, 2013 - May 9, 2014
