    Africa Fashion Opening Celebration

    About this event series

Celebrate Black History Month with us as we come together for the opening of our newest exhibit Africa Fashion.

Join us for the opening of our newest exhibit: Africa Fashion! We will be celebrating with performances by local artist Peter Jericho as we welcome visitors to explore the exhibit. Meet our Chicago collaborators for our Connecting Threads companion exhibit, Jennifer Akese-Burney and Melody Boykin, as they share what inspired their contributions and designs. Be sure to dress to impress for this celebration that you won’t want to miss!

Peter Jericho is a first-generation American artist with roots in Cameroon, whose music bridges cultures and genres. His unique blend of Afro beats, Rap, Folk, and R&B has defined him as an AfroSoul singer, a genre he has crafted to reflect his identity. Drawing from his Cameroonian heritage and American upbringing, Peter creates music that connects deeply with listeners across the globe.

Peter Jericho’s work transcends genres, offering a fresh perspective on Afro Beats and R&B. Through his music, he shares his story and cultural heritage with authenticity and purpose. With Love Wins and other projects, he continues to chart his own course, creating music that inspires and connects.

This free event is part of our Black History Month celebration.
