About this event
Mushuk Nina, meaning "New Fire" in the Kichwa language, is an annual event celebrating the Andean spring equinox. This event represents the renewal of life and marks the beginning of the Andean New Year.
Join us as we welcome the Kichwa Runa Community, an organization dedicated to preserving and strengthening their indigenous Ecuadorian heritage, as they lead a celebration of the spring equinox. Listen as musicians play traditional music from the Andes, watch as children and adults dance and reenact ancient stories, and become immersed in this ceremony dedicated to the start of the Andean New Year.
