For artist Peggy Macnamara, birds have offered much in the way of inspiration. Similarly, many biologists and other artists working alongside Peggy at The Field Museum see birds as endlessly fascinating for their diversity across time and space. In December of 2013, The Field Museum released The Art & Science of Birds, an app that explores parallels in these artistic and scientific perspectives on birds. An interactive evolutionary tree accompanied by multimedia stories offer close-up looks at Peggy's watercolor techniques alongside The Field's collections and science. See vivid character, not only of so many avian species, but also of researchers, artists, and their work at The Field Museum.
