As the assistant collections manager for the Field’s North American Anthropology collections, Emily oversees the storage of and facilitates visits with Native American and First Nations cultural items from across the United States and Canada. She is also part of the team involved with the ongoing selection of collections items for rotating elements of Native Truths: Our Voices, Our Stories. Emily is dedicated to increasing collections access for Native community members, as well as collaborating with community members to respectfully care for Native cultural items currently housed at the Field Museum.

 

Prior to the opening of Native Truths, Emily served as a collections assistant during the deinstallation of the Field’s previous hall of Native North America. She has also worked with ethnographic, archaeological, historical, and art collections at museums in Wisconsin and Colorado.
