Oral Presentation Guidelines:
The computers in the session rooms will be PC based, not macs. Participants should insure that their presentation runs in Windows XP or Windows 7 with Microsoft Office 2010. Please visit the speaker ready room (Logan) to download your program at least an hour prior to the start of your session.
Each oral presentation is allocated 15 minutes; 12 minutes for the presentation and 3 minutes for questions. The 15 minute timeframe will be strictly enforced. Links to presentation guidelines may be found at the bottom of this page. In general, practice your presentation to ensure it flows smoothly and stays well within the 15 minute time period. Speak slowly and clearly. Use large font sizes and illustrations for maximum effectiveness.
Presenters must bring their presentation on a USB drive to the speaker ready room at least one hour prior to that start of your session. Computers are available in this room for preparation and/or practice. A technician will be present to assist you and accept your program. The speaker ready will be located in the Logan Room, 4th floor from 1:00-5:00pm on Tuesday (8/13), 7:00am-5:00pm Wednesday (8/14) thru Friday (8/16) and 7:00am-3:00pm on Saturday (8/17).
All session rooms are equipped with a podium pc, LCD projector, screen, presenter remote, and podium microphone. It is the responsibility of the presenter to ensure your presentation is compatible with our current operating system (PC, not Mac based.) Presenters should arrive at their allocated session no less than 5 minutes prior to the start of the first presentation to meet with the session monitor, av technician, and session volunteer.
Note: You will not be able to connect your personal laptop; all presentations must run off the podium PC. You will not be able to access the internet during your presentation.
Poster Presentation Guidelines:
Posters are to be no larger than 45.5inches wide by 45 inches high. Push pins will be provided. The text should be laid out such that it is easily readable at a distance of 6ft. Please make sure the title of you posters is the same as that of your abstract. Include all names of contributing authors.
Poster presentations will take place in the Exhibition Hall.
